COVID Disinfecting

We provide both preventive and emergency response services for disinfecting COVID-19 in both critical and non-critical areas.

Non Critical Areas

One-step disinfecting of high-touch surfaces in non-critical areas by spraying an approved disinfectant that is effective against COVID-19 and allowing treated surfaces to air dry. Please note that direct spraying of surfaces may only be used in non-critical areas outside the data center’s controlled environment.

Subfloor Cleaning

Spray Disinfect Surfaces

One-step disinfecting of high-touch surfaces by spraying disinfectant and allowing surfaces to air dry using an approved disinfectant.

Method of Procedure

  • Remove paper products from the area to be treated.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Spray high-touch surfaces with disinfectant.
  • Allow treated surfaces to air dry without wiping.

Critical Areas

Disinfect high-touch and hard floor surfaces in critical areas by damp wiping and mopping using an approved disinfectant that is effective against COVID-19 and allowing treated surfaces to air dry. Please note that critical areas may only be damp wiped and mopped and that spraying services cannot be used in the data center’s controlled environment.

    What are Coronaviruses?

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a family of enveloped viruses that are most commonly found in animals and are not typically transmitted between animals and humans. However six strains of coronavirus were previously known to be capable of transmission from animals to humans, the most well-known being SARS-CoV (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus), and MERS-CoV (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus).

What Are the Symptoms of a Human Coronavirus Infection?

It often causes mild to moderate upper respiratory tract illness, similar to a common cold. Symptoms include a runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat, and fever. Most contract it at some point in their lives and it usually only lasts for a short time. Sometimes it can cause lower respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia or bronchitis. In some cases, such as with COVID-19, it can cause severe acute respiratory syndrome, pneumonia, kidney failure, and death.

    How Do Coronaviruses Spread?

Coronaviruses are typically spread through the air via coughing or sneezing, via contact with an infected person or contaminated surfaces, and sometimes, but rarely, via fecal contamination.4 SARS-CoV-2 is thought to have originally spread from animals to humans, but there is growing evidence of person-to-person transmission. This pattern of transmission was also reported with SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.

    Recommended Infection Control Measures

The CDC provides useful guidance relating to the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or alcohol-based hand sanitizer.  Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze.  Avoid contact with infected individuals, as much as possible, and clean and disinfect surfaces and objects with an EPA-registered disinfectant.
